This article will walk through the steps for printing chapters on Casebook Connect, as well as common issues when printing in various browsers.
First, please follow the steps in this article to print your Connected eBook chapters. The keyboard shortcut "Ctrl+P" or "Cmd+P" will not work successfully due to the inclusion of the Notebook tools.
After taking these initial steps, if you're facing issues with your print preview or printed document, please read the information below based on the browser you're using to print.
Chrome
Are your highlights not displaying in the print preview or printed document?
- Follow the steps above to print on Casebook Connect. A new tab will open in your browser with your print preferences.
- In the browser print dialog box, click "More Settings," then scroll to find "Options." Check the box for "Background Graphics" which should show your eBook highlights in the print preview.
- You may also need to change the color setting to "Color" so your highlight colors can be distinguished.
Do you want to increase or decrease the font size in your printed document?
- Follow the steps above to print on Casebook Connect. A new tab will open in your browser with your print preferences.
- In the browser print dialog box, click "More Settings," then scroll to find "Scale."
- To change the font size, select "Custom," then adjust the number to be less than or greater than 100. Your changes should display in the print preview.
Do you want to save your printed document as a PDF instead of printing a physical copy?
- Follow the steps above to print on Casebook Connect. A new tab will open in your browser with your print preferences.
- In the browser print dialog box, find "Destination," then select "Save as PDF."
- Ensure the other settings are as you'd like, then click the "Save" button at the bottom of the browser print dialog box. You'll be prompted to save the document to your files.
Safari
Are your highlights not displaying in the print preview or printed document?
- Follow the steps above to print on Casebook Connect. A new tab will open in your browser with your print preferences.
- In the browser print dialog box, click "Show Details" under the print preview, then select "Safari" in the dropdown menu for the last set of settings.
- Check the box for "Print Backgrounds" which should show your eBook highlights in the print preview.
- You may also need to uncheck the "Black and White" option so your highlight colors can be distinguished.
Do you want to increase or decrease the font size in your printed document?
Unfortunately, the standard browser print dialog box does not provide a way to change the font size as well as wrap the content around the page for a printed document. Your own Safari print settings may be different.
- The best way to increase or decrease the font size is to change the font setting in Casebook Connect before printing. When viewing your eBook, click "Settings" in the blue toolbar at the top of the screen, then "eBook Style."
- A window will display where you can adjust the font size and line height of the Connected eBook. Be sure to click the "Save Changes" button when finished.
- Next, follow the steps above to print on Casebook Connect. A new tab will open in your browser with your print preferences.

Firefox
Are you unable to see your print preview or print eBook chapters?
