Yes. JD-Next is open to anyone with an interest in the legal system or in attending law school. You do not need an LSAT or GRE score, a completed degree, or a law school acceptance to enroll. There is no application or qualification process to join, you simply register for an upcoming session.
A few conditions apply to every candidate who registers for the JD-Next test:
You must be at least 18 years old at the time of registration, or submit written approval from a parent or guardian to JD-Next.
All personal information you provide must be accurate, complete, and current.
You must be the person named on the registration, and you must personally take the test.
You may not be employed or contracted by Aspen Publishing, the JD-Next testing vendor, any test center used for JD-Next, or any party involved in designing, developing, administering, delivering, or securing the test, unless JD-Next has authorized it in writing.
You will also need a computer or tablet with reliable internet access, since the course is fully online and the test is delivered online with live proctoring.
JD-Next runs multiple sessions throughout the year. Each session includes the 8-week course, the admissions assessment, three law school score reports, and all course materials, with pricing starting at $399. Plan on roughly 6 to 10 hours per week during the course.
If cost is a concern, the LexisNexis Fee Waiver program offers a $349 credit toward registration for a limited number of selected applicants each session. If you have a disability and need testing accommodations, review the JD-Next Test Accommodations Guidelines and submit a request before your session’s accommodations deadline.
